Updates - Tryouts, team selection, Board Meeting, workouts

2019 Teams are posted

  • The tryout manual is located in the Tryout Documents folder under the Documents Tab on the left side of the BTBA.org home page. Please review this if you have questions about the selection process.
  • Please read and be aware of our grievance policy:
    • If a player or parent has a grievance after teams have been selected and posted on the BTBA website, then a 48 hour “cooling off” period applies. During this 48 hour period neither the player nor parent may contact the coaching staff or board members regarding team selection. Players are expected to be at practice for the team they were placed on. After this 48 hour period, parents may request an in-person meeting to receive feedback from the tryout but they may not ask about other players. This post tryout grievance meeting will consist of the player, player’s parents, applicable Head Coach, and one or more BTBA Board members.

Next Board Meeting:

  • Apr 14, 2019 at 7pm at City Hall (room TBD).

2019 MBL/MBT Approved Equipment

1. 2019 MBL/MBT Season Bat Rules are same as 2018:

  • MBL will ONLY allow USA Baseball regulated and stamped bats or BBCOR or wood moving forward. You can find a listing of approved bats and other FAQ's by clicking here: https://usabat.com/
  • MBL has posted their position on bats on their web site: https://www.mbl.bz/
  • The former "USSSA 1.15 BPF" rated bats will not be valid for MBL sponsored league and tournament games.

Note: There is one bat that has been decertified and cannot be used: The Easton Ghost X, 2 5/8" drop 10 (-10). https://usabat.com/decertified-bats/

Note: However, Gopher State (MYAS) will continue to use the old USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp so you may want to hang onto your old bats just for Gopher State tournaments.

  • Here are the 2018 MBL bat requirements:

*9U-14U: All bats must have the USA stamp unless you are using a -3 BBCOR bat or a wood bat.
