2015 Tryout Update

Parents,

See below for the tryout times by age group.  All tryout sessions are at Jefferson Activity Center:

 

Session 1, Fielding and Pitching, no bats are needed. 

Players should not wear any BTBA apparel. 

All players must wear protective cup.

 

Thursday March 19th

Please arrive 30 minutes before your time slot so we can check you in.

 

  • 6-7 PM 10U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 7-8 PM 10U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 8-9 PM 11U

 

Friday March 20th

Please arrive 30 minutes before your time slot so we can check you in.

 

  • 6-7 PM 12U
  • 7-8 PM 13U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 8-9 PM 13U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 9-10 PM 14U

 

Session 2, Hitting, helmet and bat required.

Players should not wear any BTBA apparel.

Sunday March 22nd

Please arrive 30 minutes before your time slot so we can check you in.

 

  • 8:30-9:30 10U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 9:30 – 10:30 10U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 10:30 – 11:30 11U
  • 11:30 – 12:30 12U
  • 12:30 - 1:30 LUNCH
  • 1:30 – 2:30 13U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 2:30 – 3:30 13U (Group will be broken up alphabetically once registration is closed)
  • 3:30 – 4:30 14U

 

Important Note, as part of the uniform fitting process, one parent must sign off on the sizing selection of the uniform.  For maximum efficiency, parent must be present with their son(s) in the fitting area to sign and approve the sizing.  This will happen during the 1-hour time slot allotted for your son’s age group.

Coach Jim Gess (Head Coach Bloomington Jefferson) is holding a hitting clinic on Sunday March 15th at JAC from 12-3. The fee is $50 per child.

Must either live in the City of Bloomington OR attend a Bloomington public school. No exceptions will be made.

BTBA ONLY WORKOUT SPACE

BTBA has secured additional workout space for all BTBA players (this cost will be added to player registration fee so use the space).

 

This space is at Game Changers, 1401 W. 94th Street in Bloomington (by 35W & 94th St.). BTBA Players will have this space from January through April 2015.

 

Days / Hours: Mondays 6-8 PM, Thursdays 7-9 PM, Saturdays 10AM-3PM

 

Players can use cages 1,2,3,5,6 and the turf area.

 

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF ALL PLAYERS AND THE FACILITY. ANY DAMAGE WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE PLAYER / FAMILY. PLEASE SHARE THIS SPACE, ANY MONOPOLIZING OF ANY AREA WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF FACILITY USE. 

 

NO TEAM WORKOUTS!!! THIS WILL BE STRONGLY ENFORCED. PERSPECTIVE COACHES WILL FORFEIT APPLICATIONS FROM COACHING.

 

Once again, this space is in addition to Winter workouts @ JAC & KAC and this space IS BTBA PLAYERS ONLY. There will be badges for players to pick up at their first time at the facility. Players must show this badge to use the space.

FREE Winter Workouts & Skill Development Clinics

Sunday night pitching, hitting and fielding skills development clinics for all Bloomington baseball players, age 8 years and older.

 

Where:     Jefferson Athletic Center (JAC): 7:30 - 8:45 pm 

               and Kennedy Athletic Center (KAC): 7:00 - 8:15 pm 

 

When:    January 4, 11, 18, 25

              February 8, 15, 22 

              March 1, 8, 15

 

PLEASE NOTE NEW TIMES FOR KAC / KENNEDY:

1/4: 6PM - 7:30 Ages 8-13, 7:30 -9 Ages 14-18

1/11: 7PM - 8:30 & 8:30 - 10PM

1/18: 6:30 - 8PM & 8 - 9:30PM

1/25: 7 - 8:30 & 8:30 - 10PM

2/1: NO WORKOUTS

2/8: 6-7:30 & 7:30 - 9PM

2/15: 6-7:30 & 7:30 - 9PM

2/22: 7 - 8:30 & 8:30 - 10PM

2015 Bat Regulations

For the 2015 MBL/MBT Season the Bat Rules will remain the same as 2014 except the new 10-U bat rules for MBL/MBT are:

Bats must be 2 1/4" with unlimited weight differential or bats must be between 2 1/2" and 2 3/4"and have a–10 differential or less (i.e. 30” – 20.0 oz.)

 

For the 2015 MBL/MBT season all bats in the 10 – 14 year old age group, big barrel bats must have the NEW USSSA Approved 1.15 BPF stamp on its taper, Babe Ruth Approved 1.15 BPF stamp or BBCOR stamp. For small barrel bats (2 1/4"), 10 - 13 year olds use all of the above stamps or you can also use bats that have the old approved USSSA 1.15 mark or it can have any 1.15 stamp on the bat. 15 year olds must use a BBCOR bat (Batted Ball Coefficient or Restitution).
